From the Forbes list of the World’s Top 50 Women in tech – here’s a shortlist of UK women who have all worked incredibly hard to get themselves to the top!
1. Chantelle Bell, BioTech Engineer from Cambridge University co-founded ‘Syrona Women’, winning awards for creating a testing device enabling women to check for cervical cancer themselves at home.
2. Sue Black, Computer Scientist who founded UK charity #techmums and launched #techmumsTV, alongside Facebook, an online series encouraging mums to learn tech skills through classes as well as online programmes.
3. Eileen Burbidge, Venture Capitalist – she has made over 70 tech investments and is a founding partner at Passion Capital. She’s also HM Treasury Special Envoy for FinTech, Mayor of London’s office Tech Ambassador and Chair of Tech City UK.
4. Karen Dolva, Consumer Technology Innovator founded No Isolation, a device that improves the lives of the vulnerable, such as sick children, by connecting them with peers at school whilst they recover at home.
5. Dr. Anne-Marie Imafidon, digital advocacy founder – Founded Stemettes, helping over 40,000 girls realise their STEM potential. Now she is working alongside large media brands, including 20th Century Fox and the BBC, to put more tech role models on TV.
