Keep your eyes peeled throughout October, as Give a Grad a Go is coordinating several initiatives for ‘Tech Skills Month’. Our aim is to help you understand the importance of technical skills today.

During this tech month we are raising awareness of:

  • Cyber Awareness Month (throughout October)
  • Computer Learning Month (throughout October)
  • International Techies Day (3rd October)
  •  Women in Tech Week (9th – 12th October)
  •  International Internet Day (29th October)

Here’s what we’ve got planned…

Cyber Awareness Month

Cybersecurity awareness is about understanding how to protect yourself online, recognising cyber threats and taking action to avoid being a cyber-attack victim.

Part of being cyber aware, is understanding the meaning of ‘your digital footprint’.

To kick things off with cyber awareness month, we have created a short video to demonstrate the importance of your digital footprint. In the video we look at:

  • What is a digital footprint?
  • Why is your digital footprint important?
  • What can you do to reduce your digital footprint?

What Is Cyber Security?

If you’re a business looking to educate yourself on cyber security best practices, we’ve collated information on the importance of cyber security for businesses, and how to protect your business from cyber attacks.

Read it here!

Computer Learning Month

For Computer Learning Month, our Digital Analyst at Give A Grad A Go held computer lessons for employees.

This involved sharing computer learning tips on internet extensions or plugins and other computer tools that employees could be using daily to help refine and develop our existing internal processes.
