Job description - Junior Bid Writer
As a Graduate Bid Writer, you will be a key part of the organisation and support the creation of tailored proposals, as well as helping with the coordination of the end-to-end bid process and bid library management, ensuring high quality, timely and compliant responses across tenders. The position will help the Bid Team to continue to develop their award-winning culture.
The role is ideal for a graduate with strong writing skills, excellent organisational ability and a keen interest in the bidding/tendering environment.
Key responsibilities - Junior Bid Writer
In this Bid Writer job in the UK, your responsibilities will include:
- Draft clear, concise and persuasive written responses for SQs, PQQs and tender submissions, tailoring content to client requirements.
- Develop and maintain supporting bid materials, including case studies, CVs, project examples and method statements.
- Proof-read and format all bid documents to ensure accuracy, consistency and brand compliance.
- Manage registrations, logins and company profiles across relevant bid and procurement portals.
- Monitor portals daily to track opportunities, clarifications, addendums and submission updates.
- Organise and manage procurement documents and maintain accurate deadline, submission and status trackers.
- Manage the clarifications process, ensuring questions are captured, submitted and responses shared promptly with the Bid Team.
- Assist with compliance checks and the collation of certificates, policies, evidence and other supporting documentation.
- Maintain the bid library, ensure version control, and create new content where information gaps exist.
- Support continuous improvement by contributing ideas, updating internal trackers, producing reports and participating in internal review/learning sessions.
In this Bid Writer job in the UK, we are looking for:
- 2.1 degree from university (any discipline with strong writing/analysis content)
- Excellent written English with the ability to produce clear, compelling text.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Highly organised and capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Confident using digital portals, online systems and document management tools.
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; team-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Proactive, curious, keen to learn and able to remain calm under pressure.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
- Desirable: experience with bids/tendering, bid portals (Proactis, Delta, Jaggaer, ProContract), and understanding of compliance requirements (SQs, PQQs, technical tenders).
- A great starting salary of £27,000 - £30,000 DOE
