Job description - Graduate Commercial Sales Scheme
This graduate programme is designed for ambitious, commercially minded graduates who are interested in building a career in sales, business development, investor engagement and client relationship management within financial services.
 
The graduate scheme will provide graduates with hands-on experience across commercial teams, giving them exposure to sales strategy, client development, investor engagement, marketing campaigns, CRM management and senior stakeholder communication. Successful candidates will gain practical experience working with internal teams, senior leadership and external clients, while developing the skills needed to progress into a permanent commercial role.
 
Key Responsibilities - Graduate Commercial Sales Scheme
  • Supporting the commercial team with prospect research, lead generation and market mapping.
  • Helping identify potential new clients across listed companies, investment trusts and relevant target sectors.
  • Preparing briefing notes, company research and meeting packs for senior sales meetings.
  • Supporting client outreach campaigns and follow-up activity.
  • Maintaining accurate records in Salesforce and helping ensure the sales pipeline is up to date.
  • Assisting with investor engagement activity, including targeting, meeting coordination and feedback tracking.
  • Supporting the preparation of sales materials, proposals, pitch documents and client presentations.
  • Working with marketing colleagues to support campaigns, events, webinars and client communications.
  • Conducting competitor and market research to inform commercial strategy.
  • Coordinating across research, marketing, investor engagement and client delivery teams to support new business and client retention.
  • Preparing internal reports, dashboards and updates for management review.
 Job requirements - Membership & Experience Lead
  • A 2:1 or above bachelor's degree from a top university.
  • Commercially minded: Interested in business, financial markets, listed companies and how organisations grow revenue.
  • Confident communicators: Able to communicate clearly and professionally in writing, by phone, on video calls and in person.
  • Relationship-focused: Comfortable building rapport with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive: Willing to take initiative, follow up, ask questions and take ownership of work.
  • Resilient: Able to handle competing priorities, changing demands and the natural challenges of a sales environment.
  • Organised: Able to manage tasks, deadlines, CRM updates and follow-through accurately.
  • Curious: Interested in understanding clients, markets, investors and commercial opportunities.
  • Numerate: Confident working with data, reports, sales metrics and market information.
  • Team-oriented: Able to work across sales, marketing, research, investor engagement and client delivery teams.
