Job description - Research and Data Analyst  
In this Research and Business Analyst role, you will provide analytical support to the business development department through data‑led market research, segmentation and pipeline reporting (producing concise dashboards on pipeline, conversion and coverage). You will be responsible for building and prioritising target accounts, mapping the target market and tailoring outreach.
 
This will see you utilising AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot), external databases, business intelligence tasks, dashboarding and data analysis to enrich the sales processes and create a "best in class" CRM. To succeed in this role, you will need a genuine passion for pairing AI, data analysis and finance, whilst being organised, autonomous and process driven.  
 
Key responsibilities - Business Analyst
In this Business Analyst job in London, your responsibilities will include:
  • Build, qualify and prioritise target accounts using AI tools, CRM and external databases; ensure accurate firm and contact data.
  • Regularly utilise AI tools to complete business intelligence tasks, dashboarding and data analysis.
  • Building and maintaining data pipelines, cleaning datasets and structuring outputs in Excel or databases.
  • Conducting market research and competitor analysis for the Business Development team.
  • Define and maintain maps of the target market (channels, consultants, allocators, decision‑makers).
  • Estimate wallet share at current clients; produce stakeholder/buying‑centre maps to support land‑and‑expand plans.
  • Produce concise dashboards on pipeline, conversion and coverage; uphold CRM hygiene and GDPR‑aware data practices.
  • Work with sales to segment audiences and tailor outreach; prepare lists, briefing notes and light A/B tests; track response and meeting conversion. 
Job requirements - Research Analyst
  • 2.1 or above in a STEM subject from a Russell Group university.
  • 1 year+  relevant commercial experience with demonstratable use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) for process improvement and CRM management.
  • Comfortable with CRM and external data sources (e.g., Morningstar Direct, eVestment, Linkedin Sales Navigator).
  • Experience with using LLMs for research purposes.
  • Highly data literate.
  • Working proficiency in SQL and Excel - Strong with PivotTables, lookups and Tableau, you can write a script, run a query and build a model with ease.
  • Active, competent user of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) as part of your daily workflow.
  • Strong written and verbal communication - you will work closely with senior stakeholders daily.
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Able to function autonomously and implement self-initiative when dealing with ambiguous or loose briefs.
  • Enjoys troubleshooting, implementing change and independent working.
