Despite 2020 having been one of the hardest years for the recruitment industry so far, we’re proud to have achieved some fantastic results and improved since last year on many areas across the business.

Helping to support our client’s businesses when they needed us the most and seeing many job-seekers secure a role during a difficult year has been inspiring and rewarding for us all at Give a Grad a Go.

Throughout 2020 and the lockdown period, we placed 361 candidates at 164 businesses across 15 sectors, including many rapidly expanding tech sectors.

Out of the total 15 sectors we hired across, 9 of these were tech sectors, solidifying the high need for technical roles.

We also saw a growing need for tech-based roles within a range of non-tech sectors, with 30% of our tech roles filled within non-tech-focused businesses.

As more companies embraced remote working, we saw many of our clients’ roles become fully remote, and with 25 out of the 108 universities, and our candidates graduating from being located overseas, our international talent pool suited this transition into remote working.

Our recent launch in Australia earlier this year also helped to solidify and grow our international reach and see candidates placed in fantastic roles across Australia.

What we’ve achieved with our clients in 2020 ?

It has been a challenging, but highly successful year for Give a Grad a Go, from launching in Australia to kick-starting careers across the world.

As we transitioned to working remotely and faced unexpected challenges, we’ve learnt that adaptability and staying connected to each other is key.

We’ve connected with our clients in many different ways this year, to help keep them informed and provide them with as much support as possible.

  • Earlier this year, we launched our Diversity and Inclusions statistics, gathering data from candidates in our database in order to build a bigger and clearer picture of where we stand in terms of candidate diversity. If you haven’t already, take a look at our Diversity and Inclusion statistics to see how we stack up, and the actions we’re now taking to ensure we are as inclusive and diverse as possible in our recruitment processes.
  • For the second year running, we were delighted to be official sponsors of The Lloyds National Business Awards. Whilst the event moved online, it didn’t stop our CEO Cary Curtis from suiting up to present ‘The Give A Grad A Go Employee of the Year Award‘, celebrating organisations who see the best return on an investment in people.
  • With many of our planned in-person events not being able to take place in 2020, we moved our events online and launched a FREE career webinar series for students and graduates, as well as a FREE employer webinar series. Our partner network has grown incredibly this year, and we’ve loved working with some of the UK’s leading universities and outstanding organisations to deliver insightful webinars to our employer and candidate community.

  • Last year’s graduate salaries ranged from £20,000 up to £48,000, we were able to fill a diverse range of roles calling for differing levels of expertise allowing us to record some really interesting insights in the graduate hiring market.
