In this Trainee Accountant role in Guildford, you will be joining a top 100 UK tax & accountancy practice, focused on delivering professional services across multiple fields. Key responsibilities - Graduate Accountant
- Administrating a case portfolio
- Assisting at meetings including preparation of minutes
- Drafting/preparation of documents required for statutory processes (e.g. notices of general meeting, circulars to creditors, progress reports)
- Drafting all routine case correspondence
- Analytical review of information to facilitate case strategy or to fulfil reporting requirements
- Preparation of periodic case reviews for review by senior staff
- Collecting in and selling assets with the assistance of agents
- Setting up and maintaining new cases on internal files and on our case management system and preparing relevant paperwork and reports
- Preparing investigation reports and detailing any antecedent transactions or other breaches of legislation
- Liaising with solicitors, valuers, accountants, banks, HMRC, company directors and The Insolvency Service
- Dealing with notices to Registrar of Companies, statutory advertisements and reports to creditors
- Completing and submitting post-insolvency VAT and corporation tax return
- Degree educated - Insolvency is a mix of accountancy and law and would be ideally suited to those with a relevant degree in economics, mathematics, accounting, finance, business or law.
- Office experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- You will need to be a team player, showing a willingness to work cooperatively.
- Fantastic written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge would be hugely beneficial, alongside a good grounding in basic IT. proficiencies, such as Excel and other MS packages.

- A starting salary of £27,000 - £30,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
