Job description - Audit Trainee
In this Audit Trainee role you will be joining the United Kingdom Audit Office (UKAO) which provides internal audit services. In this role you will be supporting the team by performing regular continuous monitoring and risk assessment activities of companies to understand the key risks facing the business (external and internal).
You will be helping with audit issue follow-up and closure for audit issues identified to issuance of the audit reports and provide regular reporting updates on a quarterly basis to the Audit Committees.
This role will be an entry level position, where full training will be provided. The team are looking for a recent graduate who is keen to pursue a career in Audit to join the team.
Key responsibilities - Audit Trainee
In this Audit Trainee role, you will be:
- Conducting audit assignments under the supervision of UKAO team members
- Assisting with the preparation of the audit weekly status update documents
- Preparing and distributing audit issue tracking reports on a timely basis and appropriate basis
- Conducting tasks such as gathering documents and information, organising folders, arranging meetings associated with continuous monitoring
- Attending the Audit Committee meetings
- Ensuring clear and regular audit communications is maintained with the UKAO team members with regards to the timely completion of tasks and deliverables
For this Audit Trainee role, you will need:
- A minimum of a 2:1 from university, ideally in Economics, Finance or a related subject
- An analytical approach and a problem-solving attitude
- Any relevant professional finance qualification would be advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage deadlines
- Ability to adapt to difficult workload demands, e.g., time/resource constraints
