Job description – SDR (Account Executive track)
In this Sales Development Representative in London, you will start on your first step toward becoming a mid-market account executive. This is not a generic meeting-booking role. You will own account intelligence, test messaging, work closely with Sales and Marketing, and help build a repeatable outbound motion.
You will develop the skills that great Account Executives rely on account planning, commercial discovery, qualification, stakeholder engagement, and business value conversations, while working alongside experienced sales leaders and Account Executives. If you're ambitious, coachable, and driven by continuous improvement, this is an opportunity to build a long-term career in enterprise SaaS sales.
Key responsibilities - Business Development Executive
In this SDR job in London, your responsibilities will include:
- Own a territory and named accounts across Northern Europe.
- Build target lists, map buying groups, and identify the right entry points across retail operations, IT, store leadership, commercial teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Research accounts and create relevant outreach angles based on business priorities, retail trends, operational challenges, and the value proposition.
- Run multi-channel outreach across email, phone, LinkedIn, events, campaigns, and store visits.
- Generate and qualify opportunities by uncovering business challenges, urgency, commercial impact, and clear next steps.
- Partner closely with Account Executives on account plans, outreach strategies, engagement signals, and opportunity handovers.
- Work with Marketing to follow up campaigns, qualify inbound interest, and continuously improve message-market fit.
- Maintain accurate Salesforce data and ensure CRM hygiene.
- Test new sequences, messaging, talk tracks, and personas, sharing learnings with the wider team.
- Develop the commercial and discovery skills needed to progress into a Mid-Market Account Executive role.
For this SDR role, the ideal candidate will have:
- B2B SDR experience in SaaS, technology, retail solutions, or a strong commercial background with evidence of outbound discipline and target achievement.
- A genuine ambition to build a career in enterprise SaaS sales and progress into a Mid-Market Account Executive role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain business value clearly and confidently.
- Curiosity about retail operations and an interest in understanding how retailers improve store performance and customer experience.
- Strong commercial judgement. You know how to prioritise accounts, buying personas, and sales triggers.
- Solid discovery and qualification skills, with confidence handling objections and progressing conversations.
- High-quality research skills and the ability to personalise outreach with relevance.
- Strong organisation, follow-through, CRM discipline, and attention to detail.
- Experience using tools such as Sales Navigator, Outreach, ZoomInfo, Salesforce, or similar.
- Resilience, ownership, coachability, and a growth mindset.
- A competitive starting salary of £45,000 with additional performance related bonus.
- Great office location in Shoreditch, London.
- Hybrid working opportunities.
- Fantastic scope for career development, with excellent training and progression opportunities. You will be on a clear pathway to a mid-market AE role.
- The opportunity to join an innovative international leader in cloud-based retail tech, and work with exciting brands.
- Close-knit team with a wider international network.
- Fantastic hands-on training.
- Regular team socials.
- Bonus opportunities
- Clear progression plan
