This year Give a Grad a Go is proudly sponsoring Anthony Nolan, so they can continue recruiting more stem cell donors to help save the lives of people with blood cancer.

This sponsorship also means that the Give a Grad a Go team are able to bring our knowledge and expertise to connect with Marrow University Lifesavers, who are inspirational and enthusiastic students who want to recruit donors, raise funds and raise awareness of the stem cell register.

As part of Anthony Nolan’s annual conference, Give a Grad a Go presented an exclusive webinar on ‘How to Ace A Video Interview: Job Hunting in a Virtual Workplace’, for the ‘Marrowers’, or University Students who are involved with the charity.

About Anthony Nolan

Anthony Nolan are a charity organisation who help save the lives of people with blood cancer by matching incredible people from their stem cell donor register to patients whose only chance of surviving their blood cancer is to have a stem cell transplant.

Devastatingly, there isn’t always time to find a matching donor in time for everyone who needs one.

Their University-based volunteer program called “Marrow” see’s thousands of students at 50 Universities across the UK running live events and social media activities to help find potential lifesavers on their campuses.

Last year, they signed up over 10,000 potential lifesavers.

Every year, Anthony Nolan hold an amazing conference to celebrate the incredible lifesaving work that the Marrowers have been doing.

This year, they hosted a week-long virtual conference which ran from Monday 21st September until Friday 25th September.

The virtual interview tips webinar

Give A Grad A Go presented a ‘Virtual Interview Tips’ webinar for the Marrowers which was a fantastic success!

The session was hosted by our Community and Partnership’s Executive, Katie Clough, who interviewed recruitment expert and Key Account Manager, Will Spilsbury.

They discussed how you can stand out in a virtual interview, and with over 3 year’s experience in the industry, Will was a fountain of invaluable knowledge for graduate job-seekers.

Our top 6 tips for acing a virtual interview:

  1. Prepare your video interview software and technology
  2. Find an appropriate setting for your video interview
  3. Dress as you would for a face-to-face interview
  4. Display positive body language and maintain eye contact
  5. Consider other types of virtual interviews and how they differ
  6. Prepare example video interview questions and answers

Don’t worry if you missed out on our exclusive tips in the webinar – we have shared the recording on our YouTube channel which you can check out here:
