Job description – Operations Analyst
In this Securities Analyst position, you will play a key role in the efficient processing of Securities Lending settlements across the US, Eastern, and European markets.
The role involves end-to-end trade lifecycle management, with a particular focus on ensuring timely and accurate settlement, effective collateral management, and routine administrative tasks to help ensure trades are processed accurately and on time.
In this position, you will also support reconciliation activities, track exceptions, and support communication with internal teams such as the front office and operations counterparties.
Key responsibilities – Securities Analyst
In this Securities Analyst role, you will be:
- Processing all aspects of trade lifecycle activities, including capture, instruction routing, and settlement management.
- Monitoring transaction updates to ensure records are accurate and up to date in the trading system.
- Managing collateral through triparty agents and bilateral arrangements, including margining and mark-to-market processes. ·
- Ensuring full allocation of collateral for respective clients under supervision. ·
- Conducting routine checks such as basic security reconciliations, raising any discrepancies to senior team members. ·
- Liaising with internal departments such as GSLS Product Control, Front Office, Operational Risk and other operations teams to relay or obtain necessary information. ·
- Assisting in the administration of repo and securities lending transactions under the guidance of senior team members
For this Securities Analyst role, you will need:
- A minimum of a 2:1 from a top university, ideally in Economics, Finance, or a related subject
- Commercial experience in/or exposure to securities operations, settlements, or collateral processes, or similar functions.
- Any relevant professional finance qualification would be advantageous but not essential. (e.g. CFA, ACCA, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage deadlines
- Ability to adapt to difficult workload demands, e.g., time/resource constraints
- A competitive starting salary of £38,000 - £45,000, depending on experience
