Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a hungry, multi-disciplinary Junior Designer to join a growing creative team at a pivotal moment as we strive to build a faster, more innovative studio model. This role is the foundational engine of that transition.

As a Junior Designer, you will provide essential support across both the SMP and Melody brands. You will be responsible for protecting the studio’s strategic time by executing high-volume design tasks across physical and digital environments with precision and speed. Working closely with the Senior Digital Designer and ACD, you will learn the agency's creative standards while actively helping to redefine the future of the studio through AI integration.

SMP is an independent agency working with global brands to deliver impactful, concept-led creative across physical and digital environments. We operate two complementary brands:

  • SMP: Focused on retail, shopper, and product-led brand experiences
  • Melody: Specialising in Amazon and marketplaces, delivering performance-driven creative optimised for online retail

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Channel Support

Execute design tasks across retail, digital, social, and print channels, taking concepts from initial layouts through to final delivery.

Studio and Creative Precision

Provide critical support across the design lifecycle, ensuring high-standard execution of all retail and digital assets — from physical POS to ecommerce storefronts — with meticulous attention to detail.

Process Efficiency

Assist in developing design toolkits and creative induction programmes to streamline studio output and improve agency ways of working.

AI R&D & Integration

Demonstrate an AI-native mindset by actively exploring and testing agentic AI tools to reduce creative churn and enhance the speed-to-market of studio workflows.

Brand Stewardship

Maintain a high standard of detail across SMP (shopper/retail) and Melody (Amazon/marketplaces), ensuring all outputs adhere strictly to brand guidelines.


Required Skillset

Foundational Mastery

Strong design principles (typography, layout, colour theory) with a solid grasp of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).

Hybrid Versatility

Ability to pivot seamlessly between designing for physical print environments and digital ecommerce platforms.

AI Aptitude

A genuine passion for emerging tech and an eagerness to assist in developing augmented AI briefing assistants and workflows.


Nice to Haves

  • Hand-sketching or scamping skills to assist in early conceptualisation
  • Basic video editing or motion skills for social media content creation
