In this London-based Junior Broker role, you'll be joining an established international brokerage firm specialising in tanker chartering across global and emerging markets. Job description - Junior Broker
As a Junior Broker, you will support experienced brokers in coordinating vessel fixtures across fast-paced freight markets. You'll monitor live market activity, assist with negotiations, and provide essential intelligence to help match cargoes with suitable vessels.

Day-to-day tasks include updating market lists, circulating opportunities, preparing recaps, and maintaining communication with owners, charterers, and agents. You'll gain full training and exposure to global tanker markets, chartering processes, and commercial shipping workflows, working from the Central London office on a hybrid basis.
 
Key responsibilities - Junior Broker
In this Junior Broker job, your responsibilities will include:
  • Monitoring vessel positions, cargo enquiries, and daily freight market developments.
  • Updating tonnage lists, cargo lists, and market reports for brokers and clients.
  • Supporting communication with shipowners, charterers, operators, and agents.
  • Circulating offers, bids, and opportunities in live markets.
  • Assisting with negotiations and preparing fixture notes and recap documentation.
  • Coordinating with operations teams to ensure smooth post-fixture execution.
  • Maintaining accurate records, internal reports, and CRM data.
  • Preparing presentations, summaries, and analytical materials when required
  • The opportunity to travel internationally once established within the role to meet with clients.
Job requirements - Junior Broker
  • Graduate preferred; no specific qualifications required.
  • Experience in shipping or chartering is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly in time-sensitive environments.
  • Confident interpersonal skills and a relationship-focused approach.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems.
