Their London office is expanding and seeking a technically strong, analytically-focused graduate to join their Forecasting team.
 
Job description – Junior Analyst
In this Junior Analyst vacancy, you will be working to constantly improve the accuracy of the business forecasts and the reliability of the service. You will need to be mathematical, analytical and energy-savvy.
 
You will be tasked with processing and managing data, building new and maintaining existing models, becoming an energy demand market expert on relevant aspects of the energy industry, and developing strong working relationships with clients within an assigned portfolio.
 
Job responsibilities – Junior Analyst
You can expect the following duties, but not limited to:

• Delving into and learning the business's proprietary methods and software ecosystems.
• Helping to maintain and develop the different data processing tools (data processing scripts, databases and forecast deliveries).
• Manipulating and analysing large datasets in the process of building models.
• Working in cooperation with the Client Support Engineers to ensure the efficient delivery of forecasts and services.
• Interacting with clients via phone, email, and in-person, either in the office or directly at their place of business.
• Researching and helping to develop methodologies around emerging energy trends and new markets, potentially leading to new product development.

 
Job requirements – Junior Analyst

• BSc degree in a quantitative discipline -  a preference for those with modules in statistical theory and/or econometrics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Empathetic and excellent listening skills.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently.
• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using any programming language, like R, Python would be a real plus.
• Process-driven and independent problem-solver.
• The ability to translate technical information into clear, user-friendly guidance.
