About the programme - Energy Shipping Trainee
Our Graduate Programme offers a structured placement lasting up to three years, with the opportunity to rotate across several key business areas. The exact duration and structure will be tailored to provide the best development experience for each trainee, ensuring well-rounded exposure to our Energy division. You’ll gain exposure to the full energy shipping lifecycle — from transport and infrastructure to technical operations and decarbonisation initiatives.
Working alongside industry specialists, you’ll develop your skills through hands-on learning, tailored training, and mentoring support - all within a global, forward-thinking company that values your growth.
What you’ll be doing - Shipping Trainee
As a Graduate Trainee, you’ll:
- Support day-to-day operations within each department.
- Work closely with Department Heads and Line Managers to build relevant, practical experience.
- Attend internal and external training to boost your knowledge and confidence.
- Apply what you learn to real-world business challenges.
- Learn how to use industry-standard systems and tools.
- Gain a broad understanding of the Energy sector through rotations in areas such as:
- Energy Transport – managing the movement of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and other energy sources across global routes.
- Technical Division – ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of vessels across the fleet.
- Gas Infrastructure – supporting key infrastructure developments, including floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs).
- New Energy and Decarbonisation – exploring innovative solutions that reduce emissions and support the transition to a low-carbon future.
You may also have the opportunity to travel to other locations as part of your development.
Who we’re looking for - Shipping Graduate
We’re looking for enthusiastic, driven graduates who are ready to learn, grow, and contribute. You should have:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in shipping, engineering, environmental science, business, or a related subject.
- A strong academic background and a curiosity about the Energy or Maritime industries.
- Great problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and in teams.
- A flexible and adaptable approach.
