Job description - Graduate Estimator
As a Trainee Estimator, you'll play a crucial role in the tendering process - helping the business win new projects by preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals. From analysing specifications and reviewing drawings to liaising with suppliers and clients, you'll gain hands-on experience and develop expertise in a highly valued field.
Key responsibilities - Trainee Estimator (Construction / Design Solutions)
In this Estimator role, you will be:
- Recording and managing new project enquiries.
- Analysing specifications and technical drawings.
- Producing accurate estimates, pricing documents, and tender proposals.
- Working with figures and measurements to support costing and project planning.
- Communicating with clients and suppliers to gather information.
- Using software tools (including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office) to support your work.
- Developing commercial awareness and problem-solving skills within the estimating process.
The ideal candidate will be:
- A recent graduate with a construction-related or numerate degree.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings (training provided).
- Confident working with figures and measurements.
- An excellent communicator with strong written and spoken English.
- Proficient with IT systems (Microsoft Office, Outlook; AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage).
- Organised, motivated, and eager to learn.
- No previous estimating experience is required - full training will be provided.
