In this M&A Analyst role, you'll be joining an independent investment banking firm that provides strategic and financial advice to corporate, private equity and governmental clients, including management teams. Their focus is on national and cross-border transactions in Europe, principally involving the German-speaking (DACH) region and the UK.
They have substantial experience in a wide range of corporate finance transactions including public and private mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital raising, and corporate restructurings. They advise clients from a wide range of industries.
Job description & Key Responsibilities - M&A Analyst (German speaking)
- Support preparation of marketing materials, pitch books, sector mappings, market analyses, and client proposals.
- Assist in delivering the firm's strategy by maintaining key databases, investor lists, and sector M&A updates, and supporting business development initiatives (including pitches, marketing trips, and meetings).
- Contribute to the execution of M&A transactions through drafting transaction materials (teasers, information memoranda, management presentations).
- Perform valuation analyses (DCF, trading and transaction comparables) and support development of financial models, including LBO and DCF models, under guidance.
- Identify and profile potential buyers or targets, prepare internal project updates and client deliverables, and conduct ad-hoc research to develop tailored client solutions.
- Direct and manage interns and support staff on M&A transactions when required
- 2.1 or above from University in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or closely related discipline
- Business fluency in German is required
- Prior internship or relevant experience in corporate finance, investment banking, Big 4, private equity, M&A boutique, or corporate business development.
- Strong interest in the M&A advisory space, with a solid understanding of financial concepts (accounting, corporate finance) and a willingness to further develop technical and modelling expertise.
- Strong analytical and quantitative foundations, including familiarity with financial modelling and valuation techniques.
- High attention to detail with the ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, able to clearly articulate deliverables, questions, and timelines.
