Job description - Data Engineer 
 
In this Data Engineer job in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, you'll be joining the business intelligence team. You'll be independently responsible for data engineering projects, including the management of data pipelines, data integrations, data standards and security, and data visualisation & analysis. 
 
You'll need to have solid prior commercial experience in Data Engineering to hit the ground running, and a strong familiarity with tools such as SQL. 
 
 
Key responsibilities - Data Engineer
In this Data Engineering job opportunity in Marlow, your responsibilities will include:
  • Building and maintaining reliable, scalable data pipelines to ensure continuous data availability for stakeholders.
  • Planning and implementing cloud-native data engineering solutions.
  • Working closely with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to identify and capture critical data from core products and services.
  • Ensuring the seamless integration of structured & unstructured data. 
  • Establishing and enforcing data standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Monitoring data quality and resolving issues.
  • Maintaining and optimising data warehouses and database management systems.
  • Extracting meaningful insights using data analysis and visualisation techniques.
  • Collaborating with a range of internal stakeholders.
 
Job requirements - Data Engineer
  • A bachelors degree from University in a relevant subject (STEM, Economics, Business).
  • Ideally a masters degree, with Data Engineering study. 
  • Prior commercial experience is required for this position, you will have proven expertise as a Data Engineer. Grads with placement years, to those with up to 3-5 years' experience. 
  • Comfortable building and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Adept in data visualisation and analysis. 
  • Proficiency in SQL & Python.
  • Experience with cloud-native data solutions and real-time data processing.
  • Very well organised, and the ability to work across a variety of projects at any one time.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across internal teams.
  • You must be able to commute to the office in Marlow at least once a week.

  • A competitive starting salary of £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
