Meter is a UK leader in IoT-enabled smart metering, we help some of the country's largest organisations (airports, universities, NHS trusts, commercial real estate portfolios) understand and reduce their consumption of water, gas, and electricity.

We're growing fast, and we're looking for a sharp, driven graduate to join our commercial team as a Business Development Representative. This isn't a "sit and dial" role, you'll be learning the full sales cycle from day one, working directly alongside experienced colleagues on real deals with major clients.

What You'll Do

  • Research and identify new client opportunities across commercial real estate, infrastructure, retail, and the public sector
  • Reach out proactively via email, LinkedIn, and phone to open conversations with decision-makers
  • Qualify leads and book meetings and demos for senior team members
  • Support proposals, tenders, and commercial discussions as you develop
  • Manage your pipeline in our CRM, keeping activity and data clean and current
  • Build a working knowledge of smart metering technology, utility data, and the UK non-household water and energy markets
  • Attend client meetings and learn how complex B2B deals are structured and won

What We're Looking For

  • Recent graduate or someone early in their career (any degree discipline considered)
  • Strong communicator - confident on the phone, polished in writing
  • Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable working to targets
  • Genuinely curious about business, technology, or sustainability
  • Resilient - you bounce back quickly and take feedback well
  • A commercial mindset: you understand that generating revenue is what makes everything else possible
