I’m the CEO and Founder of Give a Grad a Go. The most important part of my role is to ensure that the team here is happy, and that the business is moving in the right direction. I try and go out to meet all new and existing clients, as well as attending trade shows, exhibitions and career days.

My area of expertise

I sit within the Operations team. We make sure that the business is running effectively and efficiently – so we control budgets, hiring, project launches and team development. We are always trying to improve the way in which we work to make sure we stay ahead of the competition, ultimately trying to make the graduate jobs market a better place for junior talent.

Why I chose to work at Give a Grad a Go

I started Give a Grad a Go on the basis that there are too many highly accomplished recent graduates either struggling to find the right job, or who initially choose the wrong career path. The business has developed into an extremely reliable recruitment service for businesses, as well as a friendly, advisory service for graduates – we have now won numerous awards and are the UK’s leading graduate recruitment agency.

The worst job I’ve had

There have been many, but my first job, at the age of 13, was a Butt Marker at Bisley Rifle Range. I cycled half an hour to get there, sat in a concrete bunker all day getting shot at, and marking targets – all for the princely sum of £20 (cash). This is closely followed by selling credit cards at motorway service stations. The British public can be pretty blunt at times!
