Our client provides professional services to customers to maintain, develop, and in some cases manage existing national or enterprise systems on which citizens depend. This involves exposure to a wide range of technologies and methodologies. They also develop their own Cyber Security management product!
 
This company are on a very exciting trajectory; their mission is to float on AIM based on the success of their products and offer options via the EMI scheme to enable people to share in the value that they help generate.

Job description - Software Engineer 
In this Software Engineer role, you will be responsible for building, developing, testing, releasing, and maintaining systems, applications, and platforms.
 
You are expected to develop a broad range of skills across the SFIA+ framework, work towards professional qualifications with the BCS, and generally learn and apply the highest standards of IT professionalism in all that you do.
 
You will follow a quality system, refine general programming standards for each project, and document what you learn to assist colleagues in adopting better methods and techniques as required to deliver great outcomes to customers and to obtain recognition for your achievement.
 
Once you join the company, you will enjoy a period of initial training for your first project which may be for any one of our customers or our in-house product development. 
 
Key responsibilities - Software Engineer
In this Graduate Software Engineer role, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
  • Initially focusing on training in the technologies of your first project.
  • Understanding the overall responsibilities of the team that you join.
  • Working in a professional environment to carry out tasks assigned to you by your project manager.
  • Developing your skills within the SFIA+ framework and in all aspects of the project so that you:
    • Have the confidence and competence to work with autonomy.
    • Develop your design skills.
    • Take on the guidance of colleagues and collaborate on tasks.
  • Gaining an understanding of professional methodologies, standards, and quality principles that allow a team to work together to deliver a great outcome on time.
  • Progression will be based on performance and including the SFIA+ framework.
 Skills you can gain:
  • Programming, Testing, (Full SDLC).
  • Cloud, Product, Solution, and Data Administration.
  • Design and Architecture.
  • Project Management.
  • Cyber Security.
Job requirements - Software Engineer
  • Enthusiastic about IT, passionate about technology, and motivated to learn more.
  • Experience in coding is not essential, but helps to illustrate your passion for IT.
  • A history of academic excellence, degree-educated in a STEM subject, most likely.
  • Able to show your critical thinking ability when problem-solving or planning.
  • An appetite for hard work, taking initiative, and being proactive in your personal development.
  • Ambition to broaden and deepen your capabilities across all disciplines.
  • Good communication skills and the ambition to develop them.
  • Flexible, able to handle change, and thrive in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
