Job description – Research Analyst In this R&D Analyst role in London, you’ll will be undertaking the firm’s internal technical training program to have a strong understanding of R&D.
Through research and client workshops you will gain sector knowledge and identify R&D activities, detailing any comparable/routine technologies used. From this, you will have a clear understanding of the R&D criteria and will assist clients through the enquiry process and enquiry conference calls.

Key responsibilities - Research Analyst In this Research Consultant job, your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking the firm’s internal technical training program to gain a solid understanding of R&D Tax legislation.
- Understanding the R&D eligibility criteria and applying these concepts across a wide range of sectors.
- Assisting with guiding clients through the enquiry process.
- Analysing HMRC enquiry letters and assisting with drafting responses concerning relevant case law and R&D Tax legislation.
- Organising and participating in enquiry workshops and proposing response strategies.
- Drafting and peer review enquiry responses.
- Analysing financial information and preparing responses to HMRC’s financial questions.
- Researching relevant legislation/case law for particular enquiries.
- Keeping up to date on current/future R&D legislation.
Job requirements - Research Analyst For this R&D Analyst job, the company are looking for:
- 2:1 from University or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of commercial experience – prior knowledge of the R&D incentives and/or related innovation funding from outside the sector is desirable but not essential.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment that thrives on sharing ideas and feedback.
- The ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely in both written and verbal form.
- A natural problem-solving mindset: the ability to think critically and conduct your own research around a given topic.
- A genuine interest and curiosity in Software, Science, Technology & Innovation.
- The capabilities to deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- The ability to actively listen to others and ensure that they are understood.
