Job description - IT Analyst Graduate Scheme
The next IT Graduate Programme will begin in October 2024 and will run for two years.

During this time you will receive: professional training and development opportunities, be fully sponsored through your professional qualifications, provided with an enviable support network, and receive an attractive starting salary and benefits.

The programme will comprise of a number of rotations of four or eight months, allowing you to gain experience across the different teams within IT. 
 
These are: 
  1. Architecture
  2. Business & IT change/application development
  3. Infrastructure
  4. Security
  5. Financials, portfolio delivery, vendor management, PMO
  6. Service delivery
During each rotation, you will report directly to the function lead for that area.
 
Key responsibilities – IT Analyst Graduate Scheme
 
You'll be working with the various IT teams to gain an understanding of the issues, queries, and requirements faced by the function.

Tasks and activities will vary during the rotations with different parts of the organisation. In this Graduate IT Analyst job, your tasks might include:

Strategy and planning
  • Contributes to the preparation and implementation of the operational team plans to ensure these include operational considerations for delivery.
  • Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives.
  • Management team feedback.
  • Relevancy, accuracy, and timeliness of contribution to operational plans.

Policy, process and procedures        

  • Undertakes a range of duties to provide effective support to the teams in which you are placed during your rotations.
  • Adheres to agreed processes and procedures to maintain compliance at all times.
  • Manages requests, documenting issue severity and utilising standard procedures to resolve issues.
  • Supports specific activities to improve the development of processes.
  • Effective and compliant delivery in line with legal/regulatory standards, best practices and Aspen policies and procedures.
  • Accurate and timely internal reporting.
  • Delivery of operating and service standards.
  • Identification of process deficiencies.

Environmental awareness/customer focus
  • Responds to internal and external stakeholder requests in accordance with service standards and best practices.
  • Develops relationships with key stakeholders to influence and achieve business objectives.
  • Takes ownership of issues until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved.
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues to deliver superior service standards as part of the team.
  • Quality response service provided in accordance with SLAs.
  • Responsiveness and flexibility.

Technical performance

  • Acts as a point of contact/engagement for the function.
  • Gathers, tracks, logs and corrects information accurately and to appropriate quality, ensuring repositories are up to date
  • Leads the preparation, reporting, and coordination of artefacts.
  • Produces relevant, accurate, and timely reports/MI in an agreed timeframe to support the IT function and the business.
  • Prepares documents to ensure that appropriate records are established, and accuracy of records is maintained.
  • Develops sufficient knowledge of IT function, to ensure delivery of accurate information when requested.
  • Carries out analysis and research including problem-solving, root-cause analysis, task/demand allocation/coordination of backlogs.
  • Updates and maintains tracking systems to maintain accurate descriptions, status, resolution, escalations, etc.
  • Appropriate handling of confidential information or material.
  • Gains an understanding of the importance and relevance of SLAs and reported incidents. Demonstrates understanding of IT developments/commercial environment.
  • Supports teams to track progress and status reporting.
  • Is self-driven in researching and staying current with technology trends and technology capabilities.
 
Job requirements – IT Analyst Graduate Scheme
  • BA or BSc degree achieving a 2.1 or about.
  • Good interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications e.g., Excel and other departmental software packages.
  • Able to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Able to plan effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Experience working with technical systems.
  • Some practical experience of working with Windows, Linux, and other systems.
