Job description – Investor Relations Graduate Scheme
In this Equity Research Graduate Scheme, you will be joining a scheme that runs for three years (depending on the stream picked) and is designed to attract ambitious, hardworking graduates and develop your knowledge and experience for a future career in equity research.
 
This firm is searching for potential future leaders by providing candidates with immeasurable financial services experience, exposure to C-Suite audiences/investor networks, and industry-supported qualifications as well as a mapped-out career plan. Take a look at the full responsibilities below! 
 
Key responsibilities - Investor Relations Graduate Scheme
In this Investment Research Graduate Scheme, your programme will look like this:
  • The first year of the stream will follow the same rotational programme within the business, before specialising and being dedicated to the selected stream in year 2.
  • Initial 6 months: Investor Engagement team.
  • Following 6 months: Sales & Marketing team desk.
  • In the second year, the candidate will be assigned to the research stream.
  • In each placement, you can expect to gain in-depth knowledge of the business and its product offering, as well as exposure to senior leadership across the wider organisation.
  • Trainees will be expected to complete industry-recognised training courses specific to a career as an Equity Research Analyst.  The firm will meet the full cost of the CFA course (levels 1-3), exam fees, etc. (assuming first-time passes) as well as a generous study leave package.
  • Salaries will increase throughout the traineeship period via a combination of annual pay increments and pay increases linked to exam success.
  • It is intended that during the scheme, trainees will develop the skills and experience necessary to move into a permanent position at the firm.
 
Job requirements - Investor Relations Graduate Scheme
The ideal Equity Research Graduate Scheme candidate will have:
  • A minimum 2.1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in any field of study.
  • Obtained an undergraduate degree within the last two years (since the summer of 2023) & have the right to work in the UK.
  • A strong interest in financial services!
  • Analytical & Numerical skills – the ability to draw innovative conclusions from data and detailed research without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Communication skills – effective oral and written communication of ideas with an excellent command of English.
  • Independent working – the ability to perform effectively under pressure and respond to frequently changing priorities without full-time supervision.
  • Interpersonal skills – confidence in forming effective working relationships with a broad range of people, including working as part of a team.
  • Proactive mindset – the ability to take initiative, organise your own time, and manage a dynamic and diverse workload.
