Job description - Graduate Finance Assistant
In this Finance graduate job, you will report to the Financial Controller. You will take on a wide range of responsibilities across a variety of accounting & finance functions to support the business finance team. You would be required to communicate effectively with internal and external suppliers, contractors, colleagues and residents of the estate.
Key responsibilities - Graduate Accountant
In this Graduate Accounting job, your responsibilities will include:
- Check, process and distribute invoices, keeping an accurate log on the accounting software.
- Liaise with all managers about unauthorised invoices, payment queries, and coding issues.
- Manage and keep up-to-date supplier and payment logs, make urgent payments as directed, and process BACS payments & payment runs.
- Issuing remittance advice to relevant suppliers and maintaining supplier contract details.
- Reconcile all supplier’s ledger accounts to statements regularly and resolve queries.
- Prepare regular aged creditor reports and payables register for distribution.
- Attend a monthly finance meeting and provide feedback & suggestions for procedural improvements and state of play.
- Carry out any other ad hoc requests, reports, projects, and duties as directed, and generally support the finance team.
Job requirements - Junior Finance Assistant
For this Junior Finance job, we are looking for:
- A degree from university in a relevant discipline surrounding Finance & Accounting.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills both written and verbal.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Some experience with accounts payable or other finance roles is highly beneficial.
- A candidate already studying towards qualifications is beneficial (study support provided).
- Fantastic attention to detail.
- Someone who prides themselves on being reliable and highly organised with strong time management skills.
- Previous experience working in an office environment is advantageous.
