They conduct research projects, data modelling, and tests & trials in order to provide technical, commercial, and policy expertise, which will tackle the hardest challenges on the way to Net Zero.

This innovative NGO offering effective solutions and a range of products across their platform, ranging from home decarbonisation strategies, emission and energy saving action for industrial sites, business model innovation, and clean tech engineering.

Boasting a vast client base including the government, the NHS and private sector bodies, they are now launching a 12-month Energy Analyst Graduate Scheme to grow their fantastic team in Birmingham!

Job description - Graduate Energy Analyst
In this Graduate Energy Analyst job, you will be joining a team of specialist energy consultants and analysts, who work to support the public sector and industry to decarbonisation.

You will work with partners to identify, analyse and validate information that can help transform the UK energy system to meet carbon reduction targets, while learning about commercial and competitive strategy techniques.

Using internal resources and external experts to develop an evidence-based analysis for partners, you'll be delivering advice and support to partners as part of their research & development strategy. The ideal candidate will be hungry to learn and develop their career in the low carbon energy environment!

This exciting graduate program will run from September 2024 to September 2025.

Key responsibilities - Graduate Energy Analyst
In this Energy Graduate Scheme in Birmingham, you will have the chance to rotate across teams, helping to build your understanding of research, development and energy innovation in the UK. Ideally, after the 12-month program, you will be placed in a specific team to apply and advance your skills. Key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting research and analysis, collating and consolidating information
• Supporting with the delivery of proposals and projects
• Helping to produce reports and presentations
• Performing exploratory analysis to identify business trends and patterns
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements
• Working with stakeholders to identify emerging trends which are relevant to innovation projects
• Attending meetings, where you will support with notes and briefings

Job requirements - Graduate Energy Analyst

• A strong academic background in a relevant discipline (e.g. STEM, Geography, Environmental/Energy degrees, etc.)
• A Master's degree would be a bonus, but is not necessary
• Highly numerate with strong analytical & research skills
• Fantastic communication skills - both written and verbal
• Genuine passion and commitment towards environmental sustainability, energy research and innovation
• An awareness of policies and issues relevant to the Net-Zero energy transition
• Good initiative, open-minded and curious
• Good writing and presenting skills, capable of communicating engagingly, with accuracy & clarity
• Full UK working rights
• Availability to start in September 2024
