Job description- Finance Graduate
This company is an innovator in the management of complex risks on behalf of their clients. As a Risk Graduate, you will have the opportunity to work in different teams within our Risk function. This gives you the opportunity to gain an understanding of different lines of business, build key relationships and build your knowledge around the type of risks we write.

In the role you will quickly gain exposure to a range of internal and external partners so excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build enduring relationships are vital.

The next Graduate Program will begin in September 2024 and will run for two years, during which time you will receive:
 
  • Rotations across the Risk function based in London, including time spent with the Operational Risk, Insurance Risk and Financial Risk teams
  • A Graduate Induction (5 days) with the Class of 2024 cohort
  • A buddy to help with the transition into the workplace
  • Financial sponsorship to complete professional training aligned to the role (UK graduates in Risk will study towards the Chartered Insurance Institute or the International Certificate in Financial Services Risk Management).
  • Up to 10 days per annum study leave in addition to 25 days annual leave
  • Personal development opportunities including access to eLearning, facilitated workshops, continued professional development and networking opportunities
 
Key responsibilities – Finance Graduate
In this Finance Graduate role, your responsibilities will include:

You’ll rotate into a variety of finance teams giving you a unique insight into the responsibilities and deliverables each team have.

Each rotation will therefore expose you to a different range of skills, knowledge, and stakeholders around the company as you become a key contributor of deliverables for each team.

This company is a Gold ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants - www.accaglobal.com/uk) Approved Employer in recognition of the support that we provide to our ACCA trainees working towards the ACCA Qualification.

As a Finance Graduate they will provide you with the support and funding necessary to become fully ACCA qualified.

Some typical duties and responsibilities that the role holder will have when ready will include;
  • Assisting with accounting, analysis and reporting
  • Responds to queries, providing specific advice, guidance and information to colleagues to support appropriate decision making
  • Assists in maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure that service delivery meets customer/colleague expectations
  • Completing a range of prescribed accounting activities in line with delegated underwriting authority limits (including Bank reconciliations, processing of payments and receipts, general ledger maintenance, appropriate application of tax, management and analysis of FX exposure etc)
  • Contributing to the preparation of accurate and timely statutory and regulatory reporting outputs including the annual financial statements, tax returns, tax packs, entity reporting packs etc
 
Job requirements – Finance Graduate Scheme
  • BA or BSc degree achieving a 2.1 or about
  • Familiarity with Excel for creating graphs, lists, and pivot tables
  • Numerate, with an eye for spotting trends in data
  • Ability to source, process, and present quantitative and qualitative data on a range of key metrics with attention to detail
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • A natural curiosity, self-confidence and ambition for your career in financial services 
  • Familiarity with creating data visuals would be a big advantage
