Job description – Data Engineer
In this Data Scientist role, you will support the development of our data function and its value-adding potential. The Data Engineer will work closely with the data team and the wider business, contributing to efforts to maximise the value that data can add to the business.
 
This leading FinTech firm are looking for ways to use data to become more efficient in what they do and drive performance across the business.
 
Tech stack: Python, SQL, PowerBI.
 
Key responsibilities - Data Engineer
In this Data Engineer job in London, your responsibilities will include:
  • Analysing and linking complex datasets for learning and insights.
  • Building mathematical models to gain deep insights and make business recommendations.
  • Understanding challenging business problems and fully prototyping data engineering solutions (back-end database, model, and simple front end).
  • Scientifically analysing and evaluating the effectiveness of different approaches to guide future development and track the value created by the team.
  • Communicating complex solutions in a clear, understandable way to non-experts.
  • Writing production code and liaising with other implementation teams to bring your models to life.
  • Using various software and platforms for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Participating in continuous learning and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
 
Job requirements - Data Engineer
  • A 2.1 or above from university.
  • 2 years experience in a Data Engineering role, or similar.
  • Strength with Python, SQL and PowerBI.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms like Azure.
  • Analytical mindset that loves problem-solving.
