Job description - Advertorial Designer

The Advertorial Designer plays a critical role in the printing process, ensuring that all ads are prepared accurately and efficiently before they go to press. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

 

Key responsibilities - Graduate Advertorial Designer

  • File preparation: Review and prepare digital files for printing, ensuring all specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Colour management: Adjust and manage colour profiles to ensure colour accuracy and consistency across different profiles
  • Pre-flighting: Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure all files are correctly formatted and contain all necessary components for printing.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues with files, such as missing fonts, low-resolution images, or incorrect file formats.
  • Workflow management: Maintain an organised workflow to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Communication: Collaborate with clients and production staff to clarify requirements and resolve any issues.
  • Software proficiency: Utilise industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and pre-press workflow systems.
  • Quality control: Perform final quality checks on all pre-press materials to ensure the highest standards of print quality.

 

Job requirements - Junior Advertorial Designer

  • Education: A degree or certification in media, graphic arts, printing technology, or a related field.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant pre-press software. Knowledge of colour theory and printing processes.
  • Attention to detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in preparing files for print.
  • Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve pre-press issues effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
  • Time management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
