Job description - Graduate Mechanical Engineer
As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and delivering building services projects. You will work closely with experienced engineers, contributing to all project stages from concept design to construction documentation.
This role offers excellent exposure to the full project lifecycle and provides ample opportunity for professional development and growth within the building services industry.
The role is available on a Full-time or Part-time basis.
Key responsibilities - Graduate Mechanical Engineer
In this Junior Engineer job, your responsibilities will include:
- Design & Analysis: Assist in the design and analysis of HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and associated plant.
- CAD/Revit Drafting: Produce high-quality 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements.
- Client Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and other stakeholders, attending meetings and providing technical support.
- Calculations & Documentation: Perform engineering calculations, prepare technical reports, specifications, and other project documentation.
- Site Inspections: Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure project success.
- Continuous Learning: Actively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in building services engineering.
Job requirements - Junior Mechanical Engineer
For this Junior Engineering job, Aston Consulting are looking for:
- Completed or in your penultimate year studying a:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; or
- Bachelor of Engineering (Architectural Engineering)
- Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with heat load calculation software (e.g., CAMEL or Carrier HAP software).
- Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and Building Codes.
