About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Data Scientist to join our Business Intelligence function. This role is focused on leveraging machine learning and AI technologies to enhance both our business development capabilities and our broader data and analytics framework.
You will work closely with stakeholders across multiple business functions on a range of strategic AI and data initiatives sponsored by the Executive Committee. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the organisation’s AI roadmap and delivering innovative, data-driven solutions that create measurable business value.
 
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
  • Develop a strong understanding of the organisation’s business units, processes, and strategic objectives.
  • Evaluate the feasibility, business value, and technical complexity of emerging AI and machine learning use cases.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data management and data preparation processes.
  • Develop, implement, optimise, and monitor machine learning models and algorithms for a variety of business applications.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Data, and IT teams to deliver production-ready analytical and AI solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and communication of the organisation’s AI and analytics roadmap.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to senior management and executive stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in AI, machine learning, and analytics.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and/or R, including relevant machine learning and data science libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, pandas, NumPy).
  • Good understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, feature engineering, model evaluation, and optimisation.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets and designing efficient data workflows.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and able to work effectively across teams.
Desirable
  • Experience deploying machine learning models into production environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Previous experience in a commercial, financial, or business intelligence environment.
