I’m a Graduate Recruitment Consultant at Give a Grad a Go, so my role involves matching graduates with exciting companies looking to hire in the UK and across the globe.
My area of expertise
As a Graduate Consultant in the Melbourne office, I will be assisting graduates in their career search, identifying roles that are suited to their goals and aspirations and connecting with suitable organisations. I will also be working alongside Camilla to expand our reach across Australia, helping students in other parts of the country and to grow our client base and build on client relationships.
Why I chose to work at Give a Grad a Go
Having had the firsthand experience of being a graduate and navigating the minefield of career decisions, the work that Give a Grad a Go set out to achieve aligned with me. Following my previous experience working in finance recruitment in London, one thing that stood out to me was the diverse range of clients and roles working on. I love working on different projects and roles dealing with a variety of clients across all industries and I knew this would give me the chance to really explore that. Recently, I relocated to Melbourne and had been in touch with Camilla for a little while, so when the opportunity came up, I couldn’t turn it down!
The worst job I’ve had
Not necessarily the worst, but the most eye-opening job was working at a budget UK hotel chain and the adjoining restaurant. Trying to manage a front desk, and waitressing in a fully booked diner in a central city location was no easy feat. Hangry and tired people can definitely keep you on your toes!
