You’ll work alongside skilled colleagues, training to become a buyer in our Meat, Fish, or Fruit & Veg sites. You will gain hands-on experience in understanding the end-to-end buying process of sourcing, sales and planning, commercial finance, and new product development! 

Job description - Buying Graduate Scheme

Throughout this 2-year Manufacturing Graduate Scheme, you’ll experience different buying teams across either our Meat (based in Colne) or Fruit & Veg (based in Hilmore House Bradford) manufacturing sites.

You'll help us drive efficiencies and commercial profitability in a fast-paced environment. Your time will initially be spent gaining an appreciation of our operational manufacturing business, followed by a short placement in our stores to learn more about our retail operation.

Key responsibilities - Buying Graduate Scheme

In this Manufacturing Graduate Scheme, your responsibilities will include:

• Sourcing raw products to ensure we’re getting the best quality products for the best prices.
• Interacting with our farmers and growers and planning with our sites to deliver great quality food to our stores and external customers. 

Our structured training and the chance to work on exciting projects means there are plenty of opportunities to progress and learn while with us. You’ll join other Buying Graduates in training and development sessions, such as negotiation training. By the end of the programme, you will have the experience and skills needed to progress into the role of a buyer in either Meat or Fruit & Veg. 

Job requirements - Buying Graduate Scheme

We are food makers and shopkeepers, and together, we make Morrisons. We’re looking for graduates who have a real passion for food, its quality and safety, a drive to succeed and can lead and influence those around them. You need to be a great communicator with strong listening skills and the ability to build relationships with a diverse team of people.

Candidates also need a minimum 2:1 in any degree subject and agricultural experience is ideal, plus a full UK driving licence and access to a car. Other key qualities we’d like to see include:
